PRESCHOOL TRANSPORTATION: RAINBOW ROUTE

Through a grant from The Hormel Foundation and in partnership with SMART, United Way of Mower County provides a safe and efficient transportation service for preschool aged children in Austin who otherwise may not be able to attend preschool due to a transportation barrier. This service is a trusted, reliable, and affordable option for parents. Bus rides are $1 each way. There are many factors that go into bus placement such as pick up and drop off address, preschool location and time of class. Therefore, we cannot guarantee spots on the Rainbow Route for any child. We do our very best to get as many children on the bus as possible. All children must be registered for preschool before submitting an application.

Contact United Way at 507-437-2313 or ksr@uwmower.org for any questions.

TO REGISTER, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  1.  Enroll your child in the preschool of your choice.

  2. The Preschool will provide you with the QR code or link to register for preschool.

  3. Review the frequently asked questions (FAQ)

  4. Expect a letter notification the first week of August regarding your child's placement on a bus route or waitlist.

The YMCA Preschool Program recognize the importance of play for healthy brain development and the joy in learning students experience from our engaging teachers and rich environment. Students receive a session of swimming lessons at no additional cost and get to enjoy the amenities of  the facility including the indoor playground and wood gym as part of their daily routine.

Additional Options

These Preschool options are in surrounding areas to Austin. Some may be within Mower County and some may be outside of the county. Austin Aspires recognizes that some of our community members travel for work and it may be easier to find care closer to that location. These openings may not be current or up to date but we strive to provide you with the most current information!
